What is on the Sandy Springs ballot
Along with state and federal races, Sandy Springs voters decide two city questions, according to the city’s voting and elections page. The city says they are separate, and neither approves the other.
- TSPLOST renewal. Continues the existing five-year Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax of 0.75%, three-quarters of a penny per dollar, first approved in 2021. The city says it would not raise the rate. It would fund sidewalks, traffic safety, paving, multi-use paths and bike and pedestrian projects. The project list is on the city’s TSPLOST 2026 page; our road construction guide summarizes the top tier.
- Redevelopment powers. Would give the city authority under Georgia’s Redevelopment Powers Law to consider tools such as tax allocation districts in the future. The city says approval would not raise taxes, create a district, issue bonds or fund any project, and any future use would need separate public review and approval. The city did not have these powers when it incorporated in 2005.

Photo ID
Georgia requires photo ID to vote in person. Acceptable forms include a Georgia driver’s license, even if expired; a state or federal government photo ID; a U.S. passport; a government employee photo ID; a U.S. military photo ID; or a tribal photo ID. A free Georgia voter ID card is available from the Department of Driver Services or the county elections office, the city says.
Voting absentee by mail
Request an absentee ballot online through the state’s absentee ballot request portal by Friday, Oct. 23. Return it:
- by mail, so it arrives by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3;
- in person at a county registrar’s office, including the North Fulton Service Center; or
- in a drop box at one of seven early voting sites, including the Sandy Springs Library, during early voting hours through Oct. 30.
The county says absentee ballots can no longer be returned at early voting sites without a drop box or registrar’s office, and never at your Election Day polling place.
